There are so many ways to be part of the preparations for the Confluence. The most important is getting your friends and family together, and organizing your neighborhood or community to come as a group. This involves thinking about food and cooking supplies, transportation, and sleeping equipment, and networking with other groups in your area to share resources.

If you want to get involved with planning the Confluence itself, there is lots of ways to help out! We are organized into different working groups: media and outreach, youth track, site set-up, event logistics, content, finances, and others. Check below for a list of roles needed - many of these already have some people working on them but need more support! Please check back as this page will be updated.

Content

-Workshop presenters and folks to lead demonstrations; check our Content page soon for more information.

-Artists : line-drawers & graphic artists for outreach posters, stencils, flyers, stickers, t-shirts, etc.

-Performers : musicians, puppeteers, poets – performers of all kinds.

-Program Point Person & Program Team : tasks include gathering content, editing, layout, & creating a layout of the workshops & events for the Confluence’s printed program

-Workshop/Events Point Person & Team : setting up Workshops & Events; contacting presenters, etc. and acting as a liaison

-Someone to write a call for content

-Groups and people to do demonstrations, set up exhibits, and/or table at the Confluence

-Table Coordinator : someone to coordinate all the table mentioned above!

Fund-Raising

-Have a table at presentations, outside grocery stores, at music events, at workshops, or anywhere you think would be suitable and collect donations for patches, publications, etc.

-Send our fundraising letter to friends and relatives.

-Know how to write grants? Research and write grants for specific aspects of the confluence (helping folks from Canada, Brazil, & beyond participate, infrastructure, etc.), or the general event.

-Host an event in your community. Need ideas? Spaghetti dinners (or sushi, or burrito, or pancake…), fudge sales, cupcake sales, bake sales, pie auctions, Valentines card sales, movie nights, concerts, art shows, yard sales – or any combination of the above. Get those creative juices flowin’ and have fun with it!

-Sell fancy stuff on ebay and donate the money ; )

Food/Kitchen

-Kitchen Coordinator - this role is currently filled but if you have experience & are uber excited by this task, please contact food@climateconfluence.org

-Point people from each region : these lovely folks will be regional contacts for food; tasks include addressing general food needs/allergies/etc of other attendees from your region (based on registration information); help solicit & gather food donations; help set up & run kitchens, etc.

-Farmers & Stores/food companies to grow and/or donate food

-People throughout the region to contact area farmers & stores, pick-up food donations (or co-ordinate pick-ups in their region)
